Malton is the food capital of Yorkshire.
Some of the finest Yorkshire rare breed cattle, pigs and sheep come from within miles of Malton and on this course, The Cooks place will help you to celebrate these amazing animals by teaching you butchery techniques and preparation before you learn to cook iconic dishes that will quickly become part of your recipe repertoire, and in the process impress your friends and family when you host your own dinner parties or cosy suppers with confidence.
Our Fur course is a meat lover’s dream and on this full-day course we will really delve into the wonderful variety of products that Yorkshire has to offer.
During the day we will make dishes that take around 30 minutes to prepare and cook as well as some longer recipes that will span the duration of the course.
You will cook 5 dishes which we hope will give you new ideas and recipes for cooking at home, together with tips on preparation, presentation, and storage. Gilly will also provide a fun demonstration of the core techniques to get the most out of meat.
The dishes you cook will depend on what ingredients are seasonally available locally.
The course is a mixture of demonstrations and hands on cookery, ask any questions you like along the way.
Your will learn a variety of knife skills and techniques which will save you time and improve you’re the kitchen skills you already have.
You will receive a recipe file at the end of the course so that you can recreate the dishes at home for your family and friends.
